Our Commitment to Accessibility
BanterBox is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to guarantee we provide equal access to all of our users.
We believe that literature should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities. Our interactive storytelling platform is designed with inclusivity at its core, ensuring that all readers can enjoy the magic of conversing with their favorite literary characters.
Our Accessibility Goals
- Provide text alternatives for all non-text content
- Ensure all functionality is available via keyboard
- Give users enough time to read and use content
- Help users navigate and find content
- Make text content readable and understandable
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
BanterBox is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Assessment Approach
BanterBox assessed the accessibility of this platform through self-evaluation and testing with assistive technologies.

Known Issues and Workarounds
While we strive for complete accessibility, we're aware of some limitations and are actively working to address them:
AI-Generated Content Variation
In ProgressIssue: Since our narratives use AI to generate responses, the exact content may vary between sessions, which can be confusing for some users.
Workaround: Save your progress frequently and use the chapter navigation to maintain context. We're working on consistency improvements.
Complex Narrative Branches
MonitoringIssue: Some narrative branches can become complex, making it difficult to track story progression.
Workaround: Use the Navigation panel to see your current location and available paths. The story map feature is in development.
Mobile Voice Input
Planned FixIssue: Voice input on some mobile devices may not work optimally with our conversation interface.
Workaround: Use the device's built-in voice-to-text features or type responses manually. Mobile improvements are scheduled for Q2 2024.
